England caretaker manager Lee Carsley has confirmed Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa has withdrawn from Sunday’s game against Ireland, becoming the 10th player to withdraw from international duty this week.
Konsa picked up a hip injury in Thursday’s 3-0 win over Greece in Athens. And will return to his club immediately. Meaning he will not be involved in Sunday’s Nations League clash with Ireland at Wembley.
“He has been assess by the medical team, the scans. สมัคร ufabet Have come back and he will be back at Villa this afternoon,” Carsley said.
“As I said, we are not taking any risks. With anyone so apart from Ezri, everyone is available.”
Konsa limped off at half-time with an apparent hip injury, and the interim Three Lions boss has revealed. He has been sent back to his club as a precaution. Making him the 10th player to withdraw during this international break.
“He’s been assess by the medical team. The scan results are back, & now he’ll go back to Villa this afternoon. Like I said, we won’t take any risk of any of the players. Apart from Ezri we’re in good condition”
The news will come as a major concern to Unai Emery, who has already seen Pau Torres and Ian Maatsen suffer injury on national team duty.
The number of England withdrawals now stands at 10, with Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, Jack Grealish, Levi Colwill, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Aaron Ramsdale, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jarrad Branthwaite and Konsa all out.
