Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has apologized to fans after Liverpool’s 5-0 thrashing of the Reds.
Maguire said after the game: “We have to apologize to the fans. We are not playing well enough for this club. They bullied us throughout the game, we know that, but as a club we have to do better.”
“I’m disappointed, we gave them a lot of opportunities. They ended up scoring decisively. We have our chances too. But as a defender To concede four goals in the first half, especially at Old Trafford, that’s not good enough.
“We have to stick together. It’s not a matter of being punished. But we look at the whole team We have to go home and look in the mirror tonight. And what do you think will make us better?”
“The defeat to Liverpool was painful every time, we were 4-0 up in the first half in front of the fans. I want to say that it’s not good enough.”

Solskjaer added: “It is the darkest day I have had leading these players. Not good enough individually or as a team.
“The coaching staff are very good, brilliant, and I choose the way we approach the game.
“Today we were not clinical enough going forward and when you give good players spaces they score.
“We lost 6-1 to Spurs last season but this is miles worse. So We have to get over it as quick as we can and move on
“We are at rock bottom, we cannot feel any worse than this.”
Asked about his position as Man United manager, he replied: “I have come too far, we have come too far as a group and we are too close to give up now.”
Man United have now lost three league games this season as they resume their league campaign against Tottenham next weekend.
